Here is Carson at one year! We went to the doctor this week and he now weighs 23 lbs. Which they say is 60%. He is moving everywhere and getting into everything. He is big into playing peekaboo right now but doesn't like stroller rides. (he would much rather walk). He is a pretty picky eater lately but does love pasta...so we eat a lot of that. He is a real happy boy and loves to smile. He also love to ROAR at us which I find very funny and Mason loves it!!

ER visit #2

So today about a week and a half after our first visit to the ER Carson and I went back. We went to Metro this time and were in and out of there in like no time compared to Spectrum. Anyways, Carson took another fall and this time split his forehead open. I feel so bad for the little guy. This time he received 6 stitches. What more can I say.....my poor boy!

ER with Carson

So today was our first trip to the ER with Carson. Well our first trip for injury with either of our kids. Today Carson was playing peek a boo with a blanket and get turned around and fell. Unfortunately he fell right on our cement fireplace. It instantly bled and was split wide open. I was a bit frazzled you could say and I called the doctor who told us to take him to the ER. The tricky part was that Chad had our car and I had Jana. (Our car does not hold 3 car seats and for that matter I don't think I wanted to go to the ER with 3 kids. So Chad came home our neighbor was nice enough to bring him back to school and my wonderful sis in law came to the rescue and watched Mason and Jana while we were gone. Long story short. Took 30 mins b/c of traffic to get there, sat around for almost 2 hours (mind you they wouldn't let me feed him), finally saw a doctor and he put 3 stitches in Carson's lip. It sure could have been worse. They were able to strap him into this thing that made him look like a mummy (which he didn't care that he was in, thank goodness he is so laid back), gave him 4 shots in the lip (gross) and sewed him up. He did awesome, he is such a tough guy. Well, that was our day......we hope for a better (injury free) day!

The boys came out of the surgery pretty well. Carson did awesome. He left with the nurse and never once cried. Chad and I felt a little bad about how well he was with leaving us but that's okay :). When he came back he wasn't crying either. We fed him a bottle and then he fussed a little bit trying to get comfortable on Chad and then slept almost until the time we left. He was such a trooper.

Mason did pretty well too. Chad went to the operating room with him and his new Mack truck. Apparently to get him to take the mask they put the mask on Mack and McQueen and then Mason took the gas. Chad said he did really good only fought it a little . He cam out of surgery and they came and got me to go to the recovery room where I find him throwing himself all over the bed. They say that is pretty normal because their head feels so funny and they do not know where they are. I got into bed with him and they were able to give him some morphine and he settled right down. Actually he slept on me for about an hour. (which I loved)

We were able to finally get Mason to wake up take some water and get dressed. They gave each of the boys a stuffed animal and escorted Mason out in a wagon.

We were just so happy with how the day went. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!

Both boys are having surgery tomorrow morning. Carson is getting tubes and Mason is getting tubes put back in and his adenoids taken out. If you could send a prayer their way that would be great. We'll keep ya posted. Thanks!

Carson is now 10 months old. He is moving so much. He is almost walking. He has taken 11 steps in a row. That's all he wants to do all day long is walk, fall, walk, fall. It is so funny. He also loves peek a boo and giving raspberries. He is growing way too fast! He also is a biter and book/paper eater just like Mason was. Those 6 teeth get a great workout everyday

Carson is nine months old now and is trying to walk everyday. He has got great balance but hasn't got the stepping down yet. He also has 6 teeth not. I love baby teeth smiles, they are the best. He is doing well and is such a joy to be around everyday. He is becoming a daddy's boy. Every time Chad walks away he cries. He loves him so much. Mason is doing awesome. Growing up way too fast and saying so many new things everyday. It is so hard not to laugh at him sometimes.

Visit to Santa

So we decided to bring Mason to 5/3 ballpark again to look at the lights and to see Santa. This year he finally acknowledged that there were lights there. He kept asking to "get down" so he could go play with Santa and all the lights. Well after the lights we brought him to where they have Santa and this year they had people dressed up like snowman and a reindeer. Chad was holding him as we walked by and he gave them both a high five but instantly clung to Chad. So with this we both thought that he wouldn't want to sit with Santa. We put him down and saw Santa and ran right to him, mind you he cut in front of two kids to get to him, so we had him get back in line ( which he was okay with, which is SO not like him) and when it was his turn he went right up on Santa's lap and started talking to him. Santa asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he asked for kisses, he looked like he wanted to kiss Santa but that was diverted :) We were so proud of him how well he did. As for Carson, he so didn't care. He kept looking back at Santa but never cried and never pulled the beard. We did buy a picture i'll have to scan it in, it turned out okay!!

So all in all it was a great trip to see Santa. We had so much fun and our new tradition is Seeing Santa, checking out Christmas lights around town and getting Mason's favorite Micky D's!! I am so looking forward to Christmas...

Here are some pictures of Carson at his 6 month photo shoot! I make it sound like this happens all the time but it doesn't really. My cousins Shelley and Marty have a studio set up at there house and wanted to use Carson as a tester for their lights and such, so of course I jumped at the chance. I love having pictures of him and these ones just turned out so good, I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity. He was a champ. We were there for about and hour to hour and half and they took over 300 pics. We had so much fun. I hope you enjoy!

Wow 6 months has really gone by fast. Carson is getting so big and he is trying so hard to crawl. I am not pushing the issue.....I'm not ready for that yet. He is getting more vocal everyday and him and Mason are communicating all the time. It is so fun to watch them together. The sleeping is getting better. Not consistent yet but better. As for eating he is loving sweet potatoes just like Mason did but yet to be a fan of Bananas. He is just such a happy guy. Hope you like the new pics!

We have a lot of pics from Halloween this year. Every year we go to the Conklin for Pumpkin carving and to celebrate Chads birthday. We had a great time. Chad did a great job on the pumpkin this year....even though it got smashing in front of our house!

But Halloween was fun. We visited the Conklins then came home and the Peulers came over and we handed out candy and Chad and Mason went trick or treating. He had so much fun. Chad says he did a great job and even said Trick or treat and thank you! He was so excited when he got home.

Chad's Birthday

Today is Chad's birthday and Mason made him a sign for outside the house. He only painted for like two minutes and got sick of it. He didn't care to get dirty. So we hung it up outside for Chad to see. He loved it! Also, Mason helped me frost some cupcakes....well he helped eat the frosting lets say. As for Carson he is sporting the KU gear (well so is Mason too) special for Daddy's birthday! WE LOVE YOU!

Well Mason is understanding a little more about this whole potty business. So today he says "oh poppy" and ran to my bedroom (where he likes to poo) So I run after him and ask him to go to the big boy potty and he willingly comes. So we get him undressed and on the toilet and he doesn't want to be up there. He wined a bit so I took him off and he asked to get back up. Then again he wined. Then after doing that a few times he wanted his diaper back on and we moved on with our day. He has yet to poo in the diaper since but at least it's a start to the whole potty thing.

I know I am a little behind at updating these pictures. Carson is doing well. He is finally eating Oatmeal once sometimes twice a day. He seems to be enjoying it. He loves to watch everything going on around him, especially Mason. I have to be honest and say that he is not that great of a sleeper. Well compared to how Mason was at least. I did get two full nights sleep out of him this week and I have been trying very hard to get him on a set schedule. Even when he doesn't sleep well or nap well he is a very happy baby. I guess he just doesn't want to miss anything. He is just so much fun and brings a smile to my face everyday!

Post Family Farm

We went to the Post Family Farm for our friends son Alex's 2ND birthday. It turned out to be a beautiful day. Mason had so much fun on the hayride, picking up pumpkins, and barrel riding. He did not want to leave at all. I literally had to be the mom who picked him up completely off the ground and walked him straight to the car kicking and screaming. I felt bad but he was tired, hungry but having so much fun! Thanks to Nuff and Bri who invited us! I am not sure Alex enjoyed it but we loved sharing the day with him. Oh and Mason still didn't like the animal!! Go figure! They do have sleigh rides in the winter so I can't wait to go back.

So I started to feel guilty tonight and think I have left Hope out of this website. So I went back through some of my pictures and found some cute ones of her as a pup. 4 Month Check up

So Carson's 4 month check up went well. He is now 17 lbs. 8 oz (90%) and 25 and 3/4" (80%). His head is 16.5" (50%). He did have to have 3 shots and one orally. They went pretty good as far as shots go. The first shot he didn't even cry but did for the other too. He was a snuggler after that though.

He is changing so much. He loves to jump in his jumperoo and move himself all over the floor by rolling. He is trying so hard to scoot but hasn't figured it out yet. Today he has discovered that he can stick his tongue out at me and he thinks that's pretty funny and so does Mason.

Carson is a really happy baby. We have been very lucky with him so far. He has been having some issues with sleeping through the night but he just wakes up eats and goes right back to bed. So it's not too bad. He loves to smile and loves to watch Mason all day long. It is so funny because Mason loves him so much. He will stop whatever he is doing and say "brother Kiss" and walk over to him cups his face with both hands and gives him a nice kiss on the lips. It is too cute and funny. Carson is really holding his head up and acting like he wants to sit up on his own but just isn't strong enough yet. I think he may be getting a tooth her soon because he loves to suck on his hands. We go to his check up next week so I'll update with his "stats" then.

We pretty much waited until the end of summer to let Carson go swimming. I am not sure why, most likely he was either eating or sleeping when we were out there. But he seemed to like it. He stayed in for quite awhile even though it was pretty cold. He liked riding around on the little wave runner but his brother needed a turn and ended up popping a hole in it so Carson didn't get a second try.

After a family picnic Angie and Kevin came over swimming along with The Clark Clan and some of their friends. We had a great time. This was the first time Mason let go of us while he was swimming and actually stayed afloat. He is doing very well with the life jacket. He is even swimming after things and of course he loves to splash. He is growing up way to fast.

The dads were having so much fun throwing the kids to one another in the pool. Sydney got some major hang time. Good thing Chad was watching right Ang!!

We went to visit Chad's parents at a campground near Kzoo for two days. Well, we drove home each night we weren't to sure how sleeping in a tent with a two year old would go along with Carson. But we had a great time. We were able to go swimming, Chad helped the nieces and nephews go fishing. They caught some fish and two turtles. And yes Mason was afraid of the turtles. We also had good food and the kids loved the smores. It was just nice relaxing and hanging out with family.

Critter Barn/Ice Cream Social

Oh we had so much fun at the Senior Center for the Critter Barn and the ice cream social. It was so fun we were able to have all the great grandkids there. They had baby chicks, roosters, baby ducks, rabbits goats, etc. for the kids to pet and feed. Well most kids. As you can tell by the pictures Mason was rather scared of most of the animals. He tried to climb out of the goat pin and would scream when we would get to close. Carson really didn't seem to care too much. Mason sure enjoyed the ice cream and grandmas new veggie filled brownies...yuck for us adults but the kids loved them.

Chad's Aunt and Uncle came into town for Chad's dad's surprise party and they brought some KU gifts from cousin Debbie. Also, the KU shirt Carson is wearing is from the Creitz family as well. All four of us got one after the basketball team won the Championship. We sure love our Jayhawks.

Carson is now 2 months old. He is sleeping through the night and has been for a bit now and is in his own crib. Chad finally talked me into getting him out of our room. At his check up everything looked good. He weights 13 lb 14 oz (90%) and is 24 and 1/4 inches long (90%). I think he is taking after Mason and will be a big boy as well.

Carson is smiling and cooing at us all the time. He loves his new play gym. His favorite is the monkey, he'll grab at it and put it in his mouth.

As you can tell Carson is losing his hair in spots. Before we know it he will have a mowhawk.

Well we went out to Mom and Dad Conklins for dinner the other night and after we ate we took Mason outside and Dad and Chad took him to see the neighbors lambs, pigs, horses and chickens. When they came back they told us how scared Mason was of the lambs and Chickens. Well, I had never seen them so Dad took Mason and I back. Well we got Mason to go into the barn to see the lambs and he was doing fine until he noticed that a chicken had followed us into the barn and it scared the living daylights out of him. He screamed so loud and would not let go of me. It sure was nice to cuddle with him though!

Also while we were there Chad's dad found a little toad. He cupped it in his hands and showed Mason. Mason saw it moving and thought he might want to touch it. Well that is what he did. He grabbed it right out of papa's hand and put it right in his mouth!!! It was so gross. I screamed so loud for them to get that out of his mouth! I guess kids will do anything :) But it's still gross.

Here are some pictures of the cake I made for Mason's Conklin party tonight. It was a lot of work but I am happy with the way it turned out.

Mason is two now and we just cannot believe it. He is growing up so fast. We are able to understand more of what he is trying to tell us these days. He also is saying most of his ABC's when he hears the song but does have some favorite letters like B and P and Y. Too funny. He is counting as well. He really likes to count our fingers and his cars. He has been a very good boy for us but the other day he did do something that wasn't the greatest but I can take partial blame for it. What he did was while I was making his Nemo cake he must have taken the cordless phone and thought it would be a good idea to put it in the toilet. I never did hear the toilet flush but I wouldn't be surprised. I am not sure how long it was in there but Chad found it after being at basketball camp. Even though it ruined the phone we still were able to laugh about it.

So for the Peuler party I made Mason a Nemo cake. This is because the last two weeks before his birthday all's he wanted to do was watch Nemo. He even woke up in the morning saying Nemo before calling for Mom or Dad. I guess I see how we rate! It was a great party. He was able to share his birthday with his cousin Madi who turned 5 and my dad who turned....well I won't throw him under the bus :) It was a great day

So we all went out when the pool was finally open and Mason decided to sport his new Cars bathingsuit but he only really played in the small pool. He loved to splash the water in the big pool but wasn't ready to go in there the first time out. I guess that was a good thing for Chad and I because the water was still very cold. He still is wearing tubes as you can see in the picture but Blue is a good color on him don't you think?!?!

Things here are going really well. We are excited for Chad to be done with school after this week. We are going to try and spend a lot of time as a family and enjoy this summer. Carson and Mason both are getting so big. Everyday there is something new. I am enjoying every minute I get to stay home with them. Yes even the hard times, I feel so lucky!

2 Weeks

Well Carson had his 2 week appointment today and everything is looking great. He now weighs 10 lbs and is 21.5 inches long. He sure is a growing boy! Carson is a bit of a night owl but it is fun for Chad and I to have some one on one with him after Mason goes to bed too. We are just loving every minute spending time with the two boys. Mason seems to still be doing pretty good. Of course he has his moments but we can't complain.

Hello All!

Well we are happy to say Carson Dale Conklin is now here. He was born Saturday May 3 at 6:49 AM. He was born weighing 9 lb 6 oz. 21inches long. And yes I survived! :) So far he is a very content baby and we think he looks just like Mason. Mason is doing really well too. Grandma and Grandpa bought him a new Diego movie so he's pretty pumped about that. As for me I am doing pretty good. They think I may have endometriousis (sp) I have been having some severe pains in my stomach so they put me on an antibiotic to hopefully help. If it doesn't get better I will see my doc tomorrow. Hope you enjoy all the pictures. They are kinda in random order because Carson is hungry! Thank you to everyone who came to visit and called. We are so lucky to have such an amazing family.

Dr. Appointment 39 Weeks

Went to the doctor today and I am still measuring the same as last time. He did however attempt to strip my membranes but was unsuccessful. The baby is just sitting too high still. So now we wait. I will go back on Monday (Yes that is after my due date) and have a non-stress test and an ultrasound to check the fluid levels. At that time he will decide if they need to induce me (because the levels are low) or let me go longer. He did say that if the fluid levels are okay he will let me go until 41 weeks before they do anything else. So until then we are being patient. My sister Angie says if it is a girl she must not have her hair done yet and is waiting until then :)

I did have a nice night out tonight. Mason went to Grammy and Papa Conklin's for the evening and I walked the mall and did a little shopping. It really helped pass the time getting out and about.

So if anything happens we'll let you know....

We all have been enjoying the beautiful weather outside. Mason loves to ride in his car with his feet up and lounging. :) He is getting very good about walking with us down the street he even took Hope for a walk with us the other day! Well more like She walked him.

Dr. Appointment

I am now over 38 weeks. I went to the doctor today and there is no change. I am at a 1 still 30% effaced and minus 3 station. So I guess we are in for the long haul. He thought about stripping my membranes but he said I wasn't ready for that and that it would be a losing battle to try. So I go back next Wednesday....Until then we'll be patient! :)

Mason is proud to be a Jayhawk fan! (We are even trying to get him to say Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) We had so much fun watching Kansas Basketball this year and I even won the Peuler Championship trophy...Yes I beat Chad and I get that toad out of our house! Mason slept through most of the game (through our yelling and cheering) but did wake up near the end. So he stayed up for a bit to watch them cut down the nets and such.

Mason is quickly falling into the terrible two's stage. We are not to sure how much we like it but we are trying to be calm and survive this time. At this point his favorite word is No! But it is the tone he uses that is a little hard to take sometimes. Some of his other new words are yellow, owl, boat, Nemo (But sounds a lot like Elmo) and he even is trying to say cock a doodle doo. It's too funny!

Well no big change with the baby. I am dilated to a one. At least things are progressing but the doctor doesn't suspect that I go anytime soon. That is okay with me. We are almost done with the basement then we can put the baby's room together. I would like to get the all done before he/she gets here.

Baby is looking good. Doctor thinks we are in for the long haul....which is fine I am not too uncomfortable and I am enjoying my time with Mason and Chad. I go back next Tuesday for another check before the doctor goes on vacation....so until then...Go Jayhawks

Easter and Misc

Things here are going really well. We were able to visit with both families for Easter and Mason enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt at the Conklin's. I wasn't sure if he would get the concept but as you can see by the pictures it didn't take him long to figure it out.

As for me and the baby we are doing well. I go back to the doctor next week for our first "check" so we'll see where we are at then. The time is going very fast and it will be here before we know it.

Chad is the lucky one around here lately....he has tickets to the NCAA bball games this weekend in Detroit, that means he gets to watch Kansas play. Needless to say Mason and I are VERY jealous.

So we are new to this blogging thing! I figured with the baby coming that this might be easier than the two baby sites we already have. This way we can lump it all together and only have to update one page.

We are doing well. Enjoying having Chad back. Basketball is now over and we are excited to be able to spend more time with him. I know Mason is excited because now he has someone to beat in living room basketball :)

Baby C is doing well. He/She is very active these days. I am enjoying my time being pregnant but I am looking forward to meeting the newest member to our family.
